Hanover, 29 May 2026 — At Schäffer’s Interschutz stand, the 6680 T is being showcased as a versatile telescopic wheel loader for fire services, civil protection and disaster relief units as well as municipal depots. The compact telescopic wheel loader combines high lifting capacity with excellent manoeuvrability and has been specially designed to meet the demands of modern operational scenarios.
As a German family-run business based in Erwitte, Westphalia, Schäffer has been developing and manufacturing compact, wheeled and telescopic wheel loaders for a wide range of applications for 70 years. With over 40 machine models and an extensive range of attachments, Schäffer offers a broad portfolio of machines for fire services, local authorities, the construction industry, agriculture and industry.
Powerful all-rounder for fire service operations
The 6680 T is one of Schäffer’s most popular telescopic wheel loaders, combining high performance with compact dimensions. With an operating weight from 5.8 tonnes, a lifting capacity of 3.1 tonnes and a lifting height of 4.95 metres, the machine is particularly suitable for logistical tasks, technical assistance and operations during floods and severe weather conditions.
Thanks to a wading depth of up to 75 centimetres, as well as its high manoeuvrability and compact design, the 75 hp loader remains effective even under difficult operating conditions. The maximum travel speed of up to 40 km/h also enables rapid movement between the fire station and the scene of the emergency.

The Schäffer 6680 T with working platform enables safe working at height – for example, dur-ing technical rescue operations, severe weather incidents or logistical tasks in disaster re-sponse.
Specially equipped for fire service requirements
Schäffer offers a wide range of optional equipment and safety solutions for use by fire services. The machine on display at the trade fair impressively demonstrates how a telehandler can be individually adapted to the requirements of emergency services.
Fire service-specific special features and options include, amongst others:
- Protective ventilation for the cab against toxic gases and dust
- Additional underbody protection for operations in rough terrain
- Cab protection grille to protect the driver
- 12-volt charging box for battery backup in vehicle depots
- Special acoustic and visual warning system
- Visual warning signal with blue LED flashing lights at the front and rear
- AI reversing camera with pedestrian detection
- Front camera for optimal view of the pallet fork tines
- High-performance LED work lights for optimal illumination of the scene
- Special paint finish in RAL 3000

The Schäffer 6680 T is a telescopic wheel loader with an operating weight of around six tonnes and a lifting height of 4.95 m, shown here in action with the Lippstadt Fire Brigade.
Versatile thanks to numerous attachments
The 6680 T can be combined with a wide range of tools and attachments. These include, amongst others, pallet forks, buckets, high-tipping buckets, grab buckets, working platforms, winter service equipment and sweepers. As a result, the machine supports fire services not only in traditional disaster response operations, but also in logistics tasks, cleaning work and winter service.
Thanks to its combination of compact design, high manoeuvrability and versatile applications, the Schäffer 6680 T offers a cost-effective solution for fire services and local authorities wishing to use their equipment efficiently both in emergency operations and in day-to-day operations.
