Following on from the 23e T, Schäffer is set to showcase another electric telescopic wheel loader from its compact range at EuroTier in Hanover, Germany. The 16e T combines the reach of the telescopic wheel loader 1622 T with the emission-free electric motor drive of the loader 16e. With a lifting height of 2.83 m and a minimum width of 0.89 m, the 16e T unlocks new possibilities on livestock farms by combining outstanding manoeuvrability in smaller barns with quieter and emission-free operation.
The animals leisurely chew their food as the loader moves through the barn walkway delivering fresh supplies or stacking straw. This is exactly what the new 16e T is designed for. It combines the compact dimensions of the telescopic wheel loader 1622 T with the proven electrical characteristics of the loader 16e. The result is a machine that can assume tasks which had to be performed manually in the past, or where other loaders are too large, too loud or produce too many emissions.
Compactness, manoeuvrability and reach
Featuring an overall height of 1.99 m and a minimum width of 0.89 m, the 16e T also fits easily through narrow and low barn doors. The telescopic arm ensures a lifting height of 2.83 m. This enables the loading of trailers and the stacking of bales and pallets at greater heights, without compromising on manoeuvrability. The tipping load is roughly 800 kg with a bucket and when the telescopic arm is retracted. With an operating weight of 1,500 kg, the loader can be used on concrete slatted floors and is gentle on outdoor surfaces.
Emission-free and quiet: Ideal for barns
A 9.6 kW electric motor powers the hydrostatic drive with automotive control and the working hydraulics. The energy is supplied by a 48 V lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 12.2 kWh. The drive utilises original Schäffer axles, which compared to wheel motors, provide greater thrust, improved traction and longer service life with minimal maintenance. A hydraulic performance of 28 l/min enables the use of a wide range of attachments. Energy-efficient LED working headlights ensure good visibility in barns and around farms.
Charging at a wallbox or power outlet
The 16e T can be charged either from commercially available wallboxes with a Type 2 plug or from 230 V power outlets. In both cases, charging the battery to 80 per cent capacity takes around two and a half hours in optimum conditions. This provides businesses with an excellent opportunity to economically utilise electricity generated by a solar or biogas system.
