Schäffer 1422 T: Greater reach for the most compact all-rounder

Schäffer will present the new multifunctional loader 1422 T at GaLaBau 2026. The machine is based on the proven 1422 model and comes with a telescopic arm that extends the lifting height by 60 cm to 2.83 m. The 1422 T is therefore designed specifically for customers in horticulture and landscaping, landscape conservation, and caretaking and grounds maintenance services, who benefit from the extra reach while enjoying the familiar compactness and manoeuvrability of the 1422.

The telescopic arm enables the 1422 T to perform applications that were previously not possible with the multifunctional loader 1422: Loading trailers and skips with ease, reaching greater stacking heights and transferring materials effortlessly over hedges and walls. All this makes the 1422 T a valuable partner for maintaining large green spaces as well as parks, leisure facilities and cemeteries, and for a wide range of caretaking and grounds maintenance services. At the same time, the machine remains extremely manoeuvrable, even in tight spaces, and can operate where larger machines would struggle. An extensive range of attachments guarantees the necessary versatility.

Proven compactness, re-imagined
The 1422 T features the same compact dimensions as the 1422: With an operating weight of 1,400 kg, the overall height is just 1.99 m, while the width of the machine starts at 0.89 m. Measuring 3.15 m in length, it is only slightly longer than the standard boom machine. This means the loader fits easily through narrow and low entryways and can also be transported effortlessly on the back of a car trailer, even with attachment tools installed. Its low operating weight also protects delicate surfaces – making it particularly well suited for carefully maintained green spaces and top-quality outdoor areas.

Powerful engine and strong hydraulics
The 1422 T is powered by a 16.2 kW / 22 HP Kubota engine, which meets the requirements of the Stage V emissions standards without the need for exhaust gas aftertreatment. The hydrostatic drive with automotive control propels the loader to a speed of 16 km/h. As standard, the hydraulic pump delivers a flow rate of 28 l/min – providing ample power for demanding attachment tools like mulchers, sweeping brushes and hedge trimmers. The main difference to the 1422 is the new telescopic arm: It extends the lifting height from 2.23 m to 2.83 m, thus giving the loader the reach of a much larger machine while retaining its overall compactness.

When explaining the advantages of the machine, Sebastian Bertelsmeier, Schäffer marketing manager, says: “With the 1422 T, we have been able to combine the benefits of our most compact multifunctional loader with our telescopic arm to create a machine that is specifically designed to meet the needs of the horticulture and landscaping sector, as well as of caretaking and grounds maintenance services. Thanks to its combination of compactness and reach, the 1422 T truly shines when performing demanding jobs where space is tight.”
