With over 45 machine types and a wide range of attachments, Schäffer provides the broadest model variety in its class. But it is all about bespoke solutions: Our machines are specially designed to meet the requirements of the respective industry. In agriculture, loaders often need to lift higher, while in construction, they handle heavier loads. Our construction industry series was developed specifically for this purpose: The loaders in the yellow series feature a lower front carriage and a reinforced lifting cylinder – for maximum capacity to lift loads, ideal for industry, gardening and landscaping, or the municipal sector. Thanks to our configuration options, we can create customised solutions that truly perform in daily use. Friedhelm Brede, manager of operations at Schäffer, on the courage to develop proprietary solutions and the drive to advance technology:

For me, “Made for More.” embodies what Schäffer has always represented – now expressed with a clear name. It motivates us not to accept the status quo but to pursue better solutions. For me, this drive for “more” is especially evident in one project: The development of our patented SDCT (Schäffer Dual Clutch Transmission). The idea originated from a practical problem: The 9380 T used to have a compound transmission with two hydraulic motors. This solution was costly, and the transmission shifted frequently – reducing its service life. The market offered no transmission solution that satisfied us; we wanted more. So, it was clear to me: If there is no solution, we will develop one.

In collaboration with a partner, we crafted a dual clutch transmission that combines the benefits of a powershift transmission with those of a hydrostatic drive. The result: The SDCT. The driver can choose when to shift gears. Like a car, one clutch engages as the other disengages – thus ensuring exceptionally high efficiency. The development process was intensive – with countless tests conducted to ensure the transmission meets its performance promises. It has been installed in the 9660 T since 2014 and in the 9640 T since 2018 – and continues to be a unique selling point to this day. No other manufacturer offers this technology. For me, this is a prime example of “Made for More.” It demonstrates what is possible when you refuse to settle for the status quo and instead create something on your own – something that is better.
