Friedhelm Brede, manager of operations at Sch\u00e4ffer, on the courage to develop proprietary solutions and the drive to advance technology:<\/strong><\/p>\n

For me, \u201cMade for More.\u201d embodies what Sch\u00e4ffer has always represented \u2013 now expressed with a clear name. It motivates us not to accept the status quo but to pursue better solutions. For me, this drive for \u201cmore\u201d is especially evident in one project: The development of our patented SDCT (Sch\u00e4ffer Dual Clutch Transmission). The idea originated from a practical problem: The 9380 T used to have a compound transmission with two hydraulic motors. This solution was costly, and the transmission shifted frequently \u2013 reducing its service life. The market offered no transmission solution that satisfied us; we wanted more. So, it was clear to me: If there is no solution, we will develop one.<\/p>\n

In collaboration with a partner, we crafted a dual clutch transmission that combines the benefits of a powershift transmission with those of a hydrostatic drive. The result: The SDCT. The driver can choose when to shift gears. Like a car, one clutch engages as the other disengages \u2013 thus ensuring exceptionally high efficiency. The development process was intensive \u2013 with countless tests conducted to ensure the transmission meets its performance promises. It has been installed in the 9660 T since 2014 and in the 9640 T since 2018 \u2013 and continues to be a unique selling point to this day. No other manufacturer offers this technology. For me, this is a prime example of \u201cMade for More.\u201d It demonstrates what is possible when you refuse to settle for the status quo and instead create something on your own \u2013 something that is better.
